Desi Math — The Shopkeeper Challenge
Desi Math is a fast-paced mental arithmetic game inspired by the legendary speed of Indian kirana shopkeepers. You know the scene — you hand over a ₹500 note for a ₹347 purchase, and before you can blink, the shopkeeper has already counted out your change in the perfect combination of notes and coins. That's the skill this game tests.
How to Play
Each round presents you with a grid of Indian Rupee denominations — ₹1 coins, ₹10 notes, ₹500 notes, and everything in between. Some cells are filled, others are blank. Your job is to fill the blank cells with the right denominations so that everything adds up to the target bill amount. Tap a blank cell, choose a denomination from the picker, and race the clock.
The game features five levels modeled after a real kirana shop hierarchy: start as an Apprentice with easy 3×3 grids and small bill amounts, then work your way up through Helper, Cashier, Manager, and finally the legendary Seth Ji rank. At Seth Ji level, you're dealing with 4×4 grids, bill amounts up to ₹2,000, and barely enough time to think. Win 3 rounds at each level to get promoted.
Scoring
Your score rewards speed (time bonus), difficulty (level multiplier), and consistency (streak bonus). The denominations are styled to mirror real Indian Rupee note colors — saffron ₹10s, green ₹100s, brown ₹500s — making the experience feel authentic and familiar.
